Upon the invitation of the King, Brahmins living near the river saryu, Kannauj, Kashi, Pushkar, Pryag, Kurukshetra(Haryana) settled in Gujrat and now identified as Auditichya Brahmins.!

They are found in Delhi, Haryana, U.P. Rajasthan. They are different in food habits from Bengali Brahmins and are pure vegetarian. Gaur Brahmins considered themselves to be on top of hierarchy. How ? It’s better leave this question unanswered as it is meaningless in today’s context.!

Gaur Brahmins ( also written as Goud , Gauda or Gawd) and Saraswat Brahmins create a sub group which is popularly known in this region as Gaur Saraswat Brahmins(GSB). They speak Marathi and Konkani. Similarly, Coastal area Brahmins known Konkanstha or Chitpavan Brahmins came into limelight when Balaji Vishwnath became ruler of Maratha empire. Very progressive Brahmins and has given some very brilliant name in the filed of sports, dance, music and theatre. Prominent are Sachin Tedulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, to name few. In this region, putting one’s ancestral village as surname is quite common. Hence, judging lineage by name is not so easy. Deshastha Brahmins who were living near the valleys of the Krishna and the Godavari rivers, and a part of Deccan plateau adjacent to the Sahyadri hills, are collectively termed the Desha – the original home of the Deshastha Brahmins. !

Relatively a very small and silent group of Brahmins. Brahmins migrated from central India long long ago and with a fusion of Sanskrit and Tamil language , Malyalam language developed. The Kerala being very rich in spices and had International Trade since time immemorial enriched with foreign culture. !

Rajasthani Brahmins are mainly Gaur Brahmins . Due to regional reasons they are identifying themselves as Marwari Brahmins as the region is also known as Marwar. Business acumen is very high in this area and this also influenced Brahmins. Brahmins who opted for trading, business and rubbed shoulders with predominantly business community have imbibed business senses and knows as Khandelwal Brahmins. Prominent are Paliwals who hails from District Pali of Rajasthan , engaged in trading and became very rich and affluent. Because of their sheer wealth they are identified as Paliwals Brahmins. Besides, Pareek ,Gaur, Marwari Brahmin(Khandelwal Brahmins) are quite common in this region. Dadeetch, Shrimali, Jangid.!

Sanadhya Brahmins are spread mainly in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, some part of Western part Utter Pradesh . Mainly they are living in area i.e. central India !
